Life is colorful when it strays from the plan. When I drove 10,000 miles from Beijing to Paris in a 2010 rally, my 39 Chevy Speedster caught fire twice (after the fire extinguisher exploded), and the axle broke in Outer Mongolia. I overcame all that and more to finish on time with the group in Paris.

When I was 18, my dad told me to follow my bliss. It would be 30 years before I began to understand the meaning of that and the wisdom of Joseph Campbell.
